Sam Yagan and colleagues cataloged more than 7,000 profile photographs on the online matchmaking site and on basis of the survey busted these myths.

After months of speculation, Robert Pattinson has finally confirmed he is dating his Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart.
The actors, who have been dating since last year, were due to make their first public appearance as a couple at Sunday’s Bafta Film Awards, but ended up arriving separately.
Pattinson, 23, was proudly cheering from the audience when his American girlfriend, 19, was named as the winner of the Bafta Rising Star accolade at the star-studded ceremony at the Royal Opera House.

Hundreds of romantic Thais have managed to break the record for the most people involved in a speed dating session.
258 people took part in the event at the seaside resort of Pattaya, breaking the record of 252 set in Germany in 2008.
During the session, each person had three minutes to chat to a potential match, before moving on to the next one.

ABC has ordered another six-episode season of last summer’s reality competish, “Dating in the Dark.”
Show is expected to once again air this summer. Tom Shelly (“Survivor”) is the exec producer of the reality series, which comes from Endemol USA.
Originally a Dutch format, “Dating in the Dark” follows groups of men and women as they attempt to get to know each other in pitch-black rooms.
